Above I am wearing the Born This Way foundation by Too Faced |
Hello Beauties!
We all know that finding the perfect foundation with the right, coverage and finish is like finding your soulmate. With this in mind I took a trip to my local Sephora beauty store and had a couple questions for my local Sephora beauty advisors. Below are some questions I asked that could be helpful next time when picking a foundation.
How do you help people pick a foundation? What are some things you need to know or ask in order to help them?
"Definitely price point for once, what type of skin they have? (oily, combination, dry) What type of coverage and finish they're looking for? (sheer, medium, full) (matte, natural, dewy) Liquid or powder?" -Beauty Advisor
How do you keep your foundation flawless and in place all day?
"You definitely want have to make sure your skin is properly hydrated. So serums, eye creams, and the right primer. Also, depending on your skin type, if you're more oily you want to use a setting powder to set your foundation. If your skin is more dry then you might want to use a setting spray."
-Beauty Advisor
What do you think is the most efficient way to apply foundation? Beauty blender vs. Brushes
"I always use a brush. For someone who has really really dry skin I'd pick up a beauty blender because you can directly deposit the product onto the skin without picking at the dead skin cells and making it more flaky." -Beauty Advisor
...So guys for my last question I asked what would be the perfect foundation for me?
I have combination skin. My skin is oily during the spring and summer but tends to transition into the dryer side during the fall and winter. I also have very sensitive skin so any blemish on my face will look red, and I'll even sometimes end up with dark spots. (For this reason I like full coverage foundations)
After giving all this information to the beauty advisor she directed me to the Born This Way foundation by Too Faced and I'm in love! She first prepped and primed my skin and then applied the foundation with a buffing brush. It gave me full coverage to hide any imperfections and give me a natural finish. It felt absolutely amazing on my skin!
Hope this post was helpful and helps you find your perfect foundation! If you have any questions leave them in the comments bar below. :)
Love, Bri.
